Incumbents win Lawrence County contests

NEW CASTLE — Incumbent state Rep. Chis Sainato cruised to an easy victory in Tuesday’s election.

Official results are incomplete, but the Democrat Sainato defeated challenger Republican Jason Murtha, capturing about 60 percent of the vote.

Elsewhere on the ballot, two other incumbents claimed narrower victories. State Rep. Jaret Gibbons defeated Michael See, while state Sen. Elder Vogel bested Kim Villella.

In congressional contests involving Lawrence County, Republican Mike Kelly defeated Democrat Missa Eaton, while Republican Keith Rothfus was the winner in his race with Mark Critz.
