NEW CASTLE —
New Castle police used CSI technology to make arrests, closing two cold cases.
Joseph Oliva, 49, of 423 Duquesne St., was charged with burglary, theft and criminal mischief.
He was arrested Oct. 23 after police matched his DNA to a blood sample in evidence for a burglary occurring at 810 Cunningham Ave., on April 26, 2011.
Christopher J. Esposito, 21, of 806 Cunningham Ave., was charged with burglary, theft and receiving stolen property.
He was arrested Oct. 24 after police matched his fingerprints to those found at Calvary Independent Church at 424 Moody Ave., following a break-in Sept. 8, 2009. Police said missing items included an Internet router, monitor and keyboard from the church office, a mouse, keyboard and DVD player from a sound room and a DVD player from the third floor.
