Police: Man raped woman under influence of drugs

NEW CASTLE — A Union Township man has been charged with raping a woman who was under the influence of drugs.

Charges were filed Friday in District Judge Jennifer Nicholson’s court against Ryan A. Bonace, 28, of 24 S. Round St.

He was charged with rape of a substantially impaired person; involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a substantially impaired person; sexual assault; aggravated indecent assault with an impaired person; indecent assault with an impaired person; aggravated assault; unauthorized administration of an intoxicant; simple assault; recklessly endangering another person; disorderly conduct; and harassment.

The 22-year-old victim, an Ellwood City resident, told police she met Bonace on Sept. 29 and snorted two Xanax and another pill, possibly a Percocet, with him.

She said she remembers parts of the assault. She said that at one point during the day she noticed unexplained needle marks in her arm. She said she remembered repeatedly rejecting Bonace’s advances that day and slapping him once.

Another man said he witnessed one incident in which Bonace appeared to be having sex with the woman.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
