NEW CASTLE —
A woman suffered a gunshot wound to the leg yesterday afternoon on Halco Drive in the Grant Street project.
Her wound was not considered to be life threatening, according to New Castle police. She was transported to Jameson Hospital.
The shooting occurred around 12:50 p.m. and police apprehended a male shortly thereafter and placed him in custody.
Police Chief Bobby Salem said the male is not the shooter, but an accomplice. He said yesterday afternoon that it had yet to be determined whether he would be charged.
According to Salem, two women were involved in a physical fight and a male shot one of them.
