Mayor: AT&T center to close; more than 100 to lose jobs

NEW CASTLE — The AT&T relay center in downtown New Castle has been marked for closure.

Although company officials would not confirm the information, New Castle Mayor Anthony Mastrangelo and representatives of the union serving workers at the facility confirmed the news.

About 125 call center workers will lose their jobs over the next 12 to 15 months.

The call center is located at the Cascade Galleria. It has been at that location since 1997. It primarily provides services for the hearing impaired.
