Police quell drain cleaner bomb attempt

NEW CASTLE — A call about a bomb on East Leasure Avenue on Wednesday morning turned out to be a minor incident, according to police.

Chief Bobby Salem reported that a 16-year-old boy had made a chemical reaction-type of bomb out of drain cleaner and his mother found it and called 911, but the chemical reaction never occurred.

The police went to his house in the 300 block around 11:45 a.m. and removed it, Salem said.

“Its a dangerous thing and we don’t want kids out there doing it,” he said.

Have you held or will you hold a garage/yard sale this year?

I have and it was a success! It's a great way to get rid of some junk and make a little extra pocket money.
I have, but it didn't go over so well. Better luck next time?
I haven't yet, but I plan to.
I haven't and I don't plan to. It's not for me.
