NEW CASTLE —
Some offices and agencies will be closed Monday in observance of Presidents Day. Among them are:
•The Pennsylvania Department of Transportation driver license and photo center. The center also will be closed Saturday. Customers may obtain products and services online at www.dmv.state.pa.us.
•New Castle City Hall.
•The offices of Lawrence County Community Action Partnership will be closed. However, Allied Coordinated Transportation Services will be taking calls until noon and the vans will be running Monday.
•Lawrence County courthouse.

‘Carelessness’ caused Overlook fire
The state fire marshal has determined a blaze at the Overlook Health and Rehabilitation Center was caused by carelessness. Trooper David Jungling issued his report Friday and said the blaze was determined to have been caused by the careless disposal of smoking materials.

Two injured in Mill Street, Taylor accidents
Two people were injured in a pair of accidents Thursday, New Castle police reported. One involved a car that went over an embankment off West Pittsburg Road in Taylor Township around noon.
