NEW CASTLE —
A Greenville man was arrested for allegedly throwing a television set that fell onto a 9-month-old child.
Freddie Lee Page, 29, is charged with simple assault, recklessly endangering another person and two counts of criminal mischief.
New Castle police said Page and a woman had gotten into a quarrel over money in the 800 block of North Ashland Avenue around 1:30 p.m. Feb. 8 and Page threatened to break the woman’s television.
He allegedly slammed the television off a wall and it fell onto the baby, whose head was bruised on the right side. The chid also suffered a cut over her right ear.
An ambulance was sent to the house around 3:30 p.m. that afternoon regarding the baby not being alert, police said, and she was taken by ambulance to Jameson Hospital.
Officers contacted Lawrence County Children and Youth Services about the incident.
Police said Page will be sent a summons to appear in court.
