Woman accused of taking money

NEW CASTLE — A West Middlesex woman is facing multiple theft charges for allegedly using someone else’s ATM card.

The amount of money involved is nearly $1,100.

Mary Lou Boots, 29, was charged by Pulaski Township police with six counts of theft and six of access device fraud.

She has been mailed a summons.

Police said they were contacted by the victim, who learned of losses when she attempted to get money from her account and the funds were gone.

She said she had received statements from her credit union noting withdrawals at several ATMs she had not made. The victim identified Boots as the only other person who knows her pin number.

The total taken in the various incidents was $1,099.61 in funds and card use charges.

Police investigated and, in several instances, were able to obtain security photos of the person withdrawing the money. They said the individual appeared to be Boots.

Officers said they confronted Boots and she eventually acknowledged taking the funds after being shown the photos.

A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for May 15.
