Man jailed after family fight

NEW CASTLE — A fight between two Pulaski brothers resulted in injuries to one brother and their mother and jail for the other.

Hunter Lee Sowers, 20, of Pulaski is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, two counts of simple assault, harassment and disorderly conduct.

He was arraigned before District Judge Scott McGrath and jailed on $5,000 bond.

Pennsylvania state police were called to Tanglewood Road, Pulaski Township, about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday after Sowers, arguing with his 17-year-old brother, allegedly struck him, causing injuries. Police said their mother tried to stop the fight and sustained a broken foot.

Police said the brother and mother were treated at Horizon Hospital in Farrell and released.
