Hillsville man dead following shooting

NEW CASTLE — A Mahoning Township man involved in a weekend shooting has died.

Joseph Lupo, 50, of 4812 W. Main St. in Hillsville was pronounced dead Thursday by the Mahoning County, Ohio, coroner’s office.

Lupo was shot in the head during what Pennsylvania state police have described as a domestic incident. His wife, Caroline Lupo, 50, also was shot — in the abdomen and leg. She remains hospitalized in St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown.

Joseph Lupo also had been taken to that facility, where he died.

Police have not said who did the shooting in the incident. They indicated they need to speak with Caroline Lupo before releasing additional details.

News organizations in Ohio have said Lupo was a former deputy in the Mahoning County sheriff’s department in Ohio. He left the department in 2005.

Are you concerned enough about the Heartbleed bug on the Internet to change all of your social media and website passwords?

Yes. It’s always a good idea to change passwords regularly anyway. I just have so many, I’m not sure where to start.
No. From what I’ve read, companies are still trying to figure out how to fix the flaw. The bad guys will just have access to my NEW passwords, too.
Not sure, but I blame Al Gore. He invented the Internet, right? How’s he going to get us out of this mess?
