Man reports attack, robbery

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police are seeking the identities of three men who allegedly jumped and robbed a man on the North Hill.

The 21-year-old told police he had been walking south on Highland Avenue around 9:45 p.m. Saturday, and as he approached Wallace Avenue, three males asked him for a cigarette. They then asked if the man had any noodles at home because they were hungry and wanted something to eat, police said.

The man told officers he kept walking west on Wallace and when he got to Blaine Street, one of them tackled him. The men punched and kicked him while he was on the ground, he said, and took his wallet and cell phone.

Police said he suffered several cuts on his hands and face.

Anyone who has information is asked to contact the city police at (724) 656-9300.
