Body found at local park

NEW CASTLE — Neshannock Township police are investigating an apparent suicide discovered Tuesday at Pearson Park.

The body of a 71-year-old man was discovered in a wooded area of the park. Police did not release his name Tuesday pending notification of relatives.

However, officers said the man died of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. There was no sign of foul play.

The body was found by someone walking through the park around 1:25 p.m., but police believe it had been there for several hours. It was noted Tuesday was Election Day and people were at the Hutchison Center early, but nothing was heard.

A customer near Pittsburgh was shot and killed as he tried to stop a bank robber from fleeing in his getaway car. What would you have done?

I would have tried to stop the crook too, regardless of the consequences. We need more heroes to end this madness.
Let him get away. You saw what happened in this case. However, I would try to get information to help police capture him. That’s THEIR job!
