NEW CASTLE —
A New Castle man has been sentenced to 20 to 40 years in a state penitentiary for attempted homicide.
Justin Juan Johnson , 29, who has addresses at 111 N. Lee Ave. and 421-09 Neshannock Village, was found guilty by a jury of attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated assault. The jury returned a not guilty verdict on the charge of conspiracy to commit homicide.
Lawrence County Judge Thomas M. Piccione sentenced Johnson, who was given credit for one day served. He also ordered him to pay costs of prosecution and $1 restitution to the victim.

Bill Flannery, assistant district attorney, handled the prosecution for the commonwealth. Johnson was represented by Bill Panella.
Johnson also had been charged, but was not prosecuted, on charges of conspiracy to commit simple assault, carrying a concealed firearm without a license, simple assault, recklessly endangering another, propulsion of missiles into an occupied vehicle and driving with a license suspended or revoked.
