NEW CASTLE —
VFW Post 315 has been cited for selling liquor without a license and operating gambling devices.
According to the Bureau of Liquor Control Enforcement, the VFW, at 1820 E. Washington St., sold alcoholic beverages after the club liquor license expired June 30. The license was not renewed between July 1 and 22.
The club also was cited for possessing or operating gaming devices or permitting gambling or lotteries on the premises between April 18 and July 22.
These charges will go before an administrative law judge who has the authority to impose penalties ranging from $50 to $1,000 for minor offenses and up to $5,000 for more serious offenses.
The judge also may order the license suspended or revoked based on the severity of the charge, or may mandate training for the licensee.
