Body found in Slippery Rock Creek identified

NEW CASTLE — Emergency personnel spent 10 hours on Thursday combing the Slippery Rock Creek for a man who apparently fell to his death.

The man has been identified as 49-year-old Jeffrey Alborn of Hickory Township.

Slippery Rock Township Volunteer Fire Chief George Johnson said he entered the stream around 5:15 a.m. from a hillside on the south berm of the Rose Point Bridge, about 144 feet above the stream.
