Woman arrested for prostitution

NEW CASTLE — Charges of prostitution have been filed against a city woman in connection with a South Side incident.

New Castle police arrested Angela Renee Kirkland, 44, of 814 W. Washington St. around 1 a.m. Saturday on South Mill Street. A criminal complaint filed against Kirkland describes the location as a “high-volume prostitution area.”

The complaint said an officer working undercover approached a woman in a parking lot and asked if she was “working.” She asked if the man was a police officer and he replied no.

The officer wrote that he then invited Kirkland into his vehicle and inquired about sex and the cost. It’s alleged she agreed to perform a sex act in exchange for $25.
