Photo Gallery, Story: Fire destroys Henley’s warehouse

NEW CASTLE — A late morning fire destroyed a warehouse at Henley’s Truck Cover Center on Harbor Edinburg Road in Mahoning Township Monday.

“It’s gone completely,” general manager Dave Chandler said.

The main building, about 10 feet from the warehouse, had some water damage, he said. That building contains the office, showroom, shop and waiting room, which are all intact, he said.

Products to equip trucks were lost with the warehouse.

“But the biggest thing is nobody got hurt,” he said. “Anything that’s in there we can replace.”

“The fire department did a tremendous job,” he added.

Chandler said the biggest concern was getting power back on. Henley’s would be open for business Tuesday, he said.

Mahoning Fire Chief Francis “Poncho” Exposito said the cause of the blaze is under investigation, but he is ruling out anything of a suspicious nature.

Firefighters received the call just before 10:30 a.m. and cleared the scene at 4:05 p.m.

Exposito said the building contained rubber and plastic items, including mats, bumpers, tires, bed liners, truck covers and bug shields.

“It was very smoky and very hot,” he said. “I think we did an outstanding job keeping it from the main building.”

Exposito said the one-story, metal-sided building is approximately 80 by 40 feet.

Assisting Mahoning were departments from Union, North Beaver, Pulaski and Neshannock townships and Poland, Ohio.
