City man facing theft charges

NEW CASTLE — An East Side man is facing charges after allegedly stealing a grill and a metal fire pit from a shed on Huron Avenue.

Johnathan B. Malinchak, 24, of Rear 811 Franklin Ave., is charged with burglary, criminal trespass, theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said a woman reported the theft around 5:15 p.m. Tuesday. She said she saw Malinchak, with whom she is acquainted, and another man in her backyard. She told officers they had arrived in a green pickup truck.

The woman said she saw both men putting the items into the back of the truck, then drive away.

A warrant has been issued for Malinchak’s arrest.
