Police: Infatuated student harasses local teacher

ELLWOOD CITY — Police have cited a 15-year-old boy with harassing a 26-year-old female teacher at his western Pennsylvania high school.

The Beaver County Times said yesterday that the Elwood City patrolman who filed the citation reported he had “never seen a student that was so infatuated with a teacher.”

Police say the student made lewd remarks about the teacher, commenting on her hairstyle, figure and, at one point, referenced a contraceptive device. They say the boy tracked the teacher’s schedule so he could confront her between classes in hallways and classrooms for weeks and became angry when she threatened to report him.

Authorities aren’t identifying the boy because of his age.

Ellwood City Area School District Superintendent Frank Aloi has declined to comment except to say the matter has been resolved.

The Lawrence County commissioners have decided to solicit proposals for the private operation of the county jail. Good idea?

Yes. If it’s a more efficient way to run the jail, I’m all for it.
No. I think there would be too many questions of liability for the county.
Not sure. The county seems to be doing a good job of running the jail now. Why break it if it’s not broken?
