Man accused of wielding machete

NEW CASTLE — A New Castle man faces multiple charges after allegedly threatening two people with a machete on Wednesday.

Police said they intend to charge James D. Lewis, 32, who has home addresses listed as 808 Morton St. and 300 Rhodes Place, with terroristic threats, simple assault and harassment.

According to police, a man said Lewis exited his dwelling at Rhodes Place waving a machete and threatening his ex-wife. The man told Lewis that he shouldn’t talk to a woman like that.

Lewis then threatened to attack the man, waving the machete above his head, saying he was going to cut the man, police said.

Lewis then went into his house about two minutes before police arrived, and they were unable to find him, they said.

A customer near Pittsburgh was shot and killed as he tried to stop a bank robber from fleeing in his getaway car. What would you have done?

I would have tried to stop the crook too, regardless of the consequences. We need more heroes to end this madness.
Let him get away. You saw what happened in this case. However, I would try to get information to help police capture him. That’s THEIR job!
