Lockley placed on lockdown

NEW CASTLE — The Lockley Early Learning Center was placed on lockdown today, just before dismissal.

John J. Sarandrea, New Castle’s schools superintendent, said the measure was taken around 3:20 p.m. He explained a man who lives near the school on Orange Street had called police saying he believed someone had broken into his home and might still be inside.

The school resource officer and police searched the house but reportedly did not find anyone, Sarandrea said.

Meanwhile, the resource officer told school officials to keep everyone inside until the neighborhood was deemed to be safe.

The lockdown was in effect for about 10 minutes, then the children were allowed to leave, Sarandrea said.

Attempts to contact the New Castle police during the lockdown period were unsuccessful.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
