Woman attempts to escape

A woman wanted on warrants in Ohio escaped handcuffs and tried to flee New Castle officers when they arrested her.

Police said they picked up Carol Ann Brandon, 45, of 13 Walter Drive while she was walking on the city’s South Side. An officer arrested her for a state parole violation and put her in a cruiser.

As he was talking to another woman who was with her, Brandon slipped out of one handcuff and climbed out a passenger window and fell to the ground. She then ran from the car and an officer grabbed her.

She was treated at Jameson Hospital for arm pain. Police found a wallet in her possession that contained six syringes, a spoon with suspected drug residue and a glass pipe. She was wanted on warrants from Mahoning and Trumbull counties in Ohio.

Brandon is charged with escape, false identification to police, flight to avoid apprehension and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was placed in the Lawrence County jail on $10,000 bond.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
