Man jailed following gun incident

NEW CASTLE — A North Hill man has been jailed after allegedly pointing a gun at a woman on the South Side.

Allen D. Frieson, 20, of 409 E. Leasure Ave., is charged with carrying a concealed weapon without a license and two counts each of aggravated assault and recklessly endangering others.

He was arraigned before District Judge Melissa Amodie and jailed in lieu of $50,000 bond.

New Castle police were told Frieson went to the home of a woman in the 500 block of East Reynolds Street at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday and pointed a .25 caliber automatic handgun at her when she opened her door to him.

The woman said she and Frieson had engaged in a fight in her front yard earlier that day. Following the fight, police were told, Frieson called and texted the woman about the altercation before going to her door.

Officers were told the woman and a witness closed the door to prevent Frieson from entering the house then called police.
