NEW CASTLE —
A Union Township man is facing charges after allegedly threatening a North Hill couple.
New Castle police filed charges of terroristic threats, disorderly conduct, criminal mischief and harassment against Matthew Pitts, 22, whose last known address is 50 Upper Idlewild Drive.
As of Tuesday, he had not been arrested.
According to court documents, Pitts called the mother of his children on July 5, threatening to take them from her. Police said Pitts arrived at her home on East Wallace Avenue, broke a window in the front door, then left.
Police also were told that Pitts had taunted a man who was inside the house, attempting to get him to go outside to fight. Officers were told Pitts had threatened to “kill everyone.”
Police said Pitts called back while they were at the scene. At that time, they said, he was advised of charges facing him and told not to make any more contact with the victims.
Officers were later informed that Pitts had continued to call the woman in the house, sent her a text message, and called the man five times after being told not to do so.
