Driver of Union crash to be cited

NEW CASTLE — The driver of a pickup truck that collided with another vehicle in Union Township Friday night is facing charges.

The accident occurred around 8:15 p.m. at West State Street and Old Youngstown Road.

Union Township police said charges are pending against Francis Metrocavige, who failed to yield to oncoming traffic and was struck by a westbound vehicle driven by Charlotte Relic. After impact, the pickup flipped over onto its roof against a utility pole.

No injuries were reported.
