Man facing robbery charges

NEW CASTLE — A Neshannock Village man is facing charges for allegedly robbing a woman while on a date.

New Castle police said Michael Isaiah Cuffie, 30, of 2 Neshannock Ave., is accused in connection with the incident that allegedly occurred Monday, just before midnight.

A woman told police she picked up Cuffie to go on a date. He told her he wanted to go to a casino, but she did not, she said. Cuffie became agitated and argued with her, she continued, and as they pulled up on Neshannock Avenue, he slapped her, grabbed her purse and stole $200 and a cell phone from it.

Cuffie is charged with robbery, theft, receiving stolen property, theft from a motor vehicle, simple assault and harassment.

A warrant has been issued for his arrest.
