‘Tent City’ man slashed with knife

NEW CASTLE — A man from the Tent City homeless encampment behind Cascade Galleria was slashed in the face with a knife yesterday.

New Castle police chief Bobby Salem said the incident occurred around 1:45 p.m. The victim was taken to Jameson Hospital for treatment.

Officers arrested a man whom they believe is the suspect.

No further information was available on the incident last night.
