NEW CASTLE —
Federal, state and local government buildings have announced their closing schedules for the holidays.
They are as follows:
•U.S. Postal Service:
The post offices in the Western District will be open Christmas and New Year’s eves.
The New Castle post office lobbies will close at 4 p.m. both of those days.
Regular mail delivery Monday and Dec. 31 will be unaffected by the changes to retail hours.
•ACTS: Allied Community Transportation Service office at 241 W. Grant St. will be closed Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan 1. The vans will not be running on any of those days.
•Courthouse: The Lawrence County Government Center, courts and county offices will be closed Dec. 24, 25 and 26 and Jan. 1. The courthouse will be open for business Dec. 31.

A Little Beaver Township business was destroyed when a fire started in a garage. Enon Valley Volunteer Fire Chief Ben Hostetler said the blaze broke out about 12:20 a.m. Sunday in the garage of John Curea at 1791 State Route 551.
