Train leaks denatured alcohol

NEW CASTLE — Taylor Township firefighters were called to the CSX rail yard Saturday for a denatured alcohol leak from a rail car.

The leak of the highly flammable alcohol was reported around 9:30 a.m. at the yard at 2973 West Pittsburg Road.

Taylor Township Fire Chief David Allegro summoned the CSX hazardous materials team. The trainmaster and a Taylor Township fireman contained the leak.

Occupants of one house on Route 168 were advised of the leak, but did not have to leave their home, according to New Castle police.

No, that would be weird.
I don’t know. Next time I’m alone, I’ll ask.
