Police issue warrant for jail threat suspect

NEW CASTLE — New Castle police have issued a warrant for a California man in connection with three bomb threats at the Lawrence County jail.

Tyler Jordan Nicolls, 22, of Orlando, Calif., is charged with three counts of terroristic threats to cause serious public inconvenience, three counts of threats for weapons of mass destruction, and three counts of obstructing administration of law enforcement or other governmental functions.

The charges were filed Friday morning.

The bomb threats were made to the jail on June 15, June 18 and June 19.

City police traced the threatening calls to a TracFone. Each call came from the same telephone number, which included the “530” area code from California.
