Portions of Liberty Street closed

NEW CASTLE — A downed tree and power lines caused the closing of a portion of Liberty Street in Mahoningtown Tuesday afternoon.

City crews were closing off intersections around Miller Road and rerouting traffic. Mahoning Avenue at Liberty Street was one of the intersections closed.

The closures began just after 2 p.m. Crews from Penn Power were being awaited to repair with the downed lines.
