Teen charged in game set robbery

NEW CASTLE — A 17-year-old male is wanted as an alleged accomplice in a robbery of a man’s electronic game set.

Police Tuesday filed charges of robbery and aggravated assault against Antonio Anarumo of 646 S. Cascade St. A warrant has been issued for his arrest.

According to court records, the victim told police Anarumo and Anthony Dennis had met him with the intent of Dennis buying the game set from him. Dennis had a gun with him and fired a shot that just missed his left foot.

He said the man with Dennis, later identified as Anarumo, hit him in the back of the head during the incident, which occurred Jan. 24 on Franklin Avenue, according to police.

The victim, who is a juvenile, went with a guardian to court and picked Anarumo out of a photo lineup, police said.

Anarumo also is charged with recklessly endangering another person, harassment, theft and receiving stolen property.

Dennis was charged Jan. 29 with similar counts, in addition to gun-related charges, and was arrested Feb. 8.

Pursuant to an agreement with the courts, his initial bond of $15,000 was lowered to $10,000. His preliminary hearing is set for Wednesday.
