NEW CASTLE —
An East Side man is in custody after police caught him with drugs and a gun after shots were fired.
New Castle police were called to the home of Marquis Anthony Holmes, 35, of 927 Marshall Ave. around 5 a.m. Saturday.
Police chief Bobby Salem said that upon the officers’ arrival, they found Holmes was yelling about someone shooting someone.
Holmes had a Glock pistol loaded with 13 rounds in his back pocket that had been reported stolen. Police also found a variety of narcotic pills and $700 cash in his pockets, according to reports.
He was arrested and arraigned by District Judge David B. Rishel, who lodged him in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.
Holmes is charged with six felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, six counts of possession, receiving stolen property, illegal possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.
There was no report of anyone being hit by gunfire, according to Salem.
