Man arrested after gunfire report

NEW CASTLE — An East Side man is in custody after police caught him with drugs and a gun after shots were fired.

New Castle police were called to the home of Marquis Anthony Holmes, 35, of 927 Marshall Ave. around 5 a.m. Saturday.

Police chief Bobby Salem said that upon the officers’ arrival, they found Holmes was yelling about someone shooting someone.

Holmes had a Glock pistol loaded with 13 rounds in his back pocket that had been reported stolen. Police also found a variety of narcotic pills and $700 cash in his pockets, according to reports.

He was arrested and arraigned by District Judge David B. Rishel, who lodged him in the Lawrence County jail in lieu of $10,000 bond.

Holmes is charged with six felony counts of possession with intent to deliver, six counts of possession, receiving stolen property, illegal possession of a firearm and carrying a firearm without a license.

There was no report of anyone being hit by gunfire, according to Salem.

Are you concerned enough about the Heartbleed bug on the Internet to change all of your social media and website passwords?

Yes. It’s always a good idea to change passwords regularly anyway. I just have so many, I’m not sure where to start.
No. From what I’ve read, companies are still trying to figure out how to fix the flaw. The bad guys will just have access to my NEW passwords, too.
Not sure, but I blame Al Gore. He invented the Internet, right? How’s he going to get us out of this mess?
