NEW CASTLE —
New Castle police yesterday arrested a West Side woman accused of stabbing a man in the chest.
Valerie Rochelle Roberts, 42, of 814 W. Washington St., is charged with two separate counts of aggravated assault, robbery, theft, simple assault and recklessly endangering another person in connection with the Wednesday morning incident.
She allegedly stabbed a man in the chest while visiting him at his house on Franklin Avenue with another woman around 5 a.m.
The man told police that he had just met Roberts, and she was sitting next to him on his living room couch around 5 a.m. and arguing with the other woman who was sitting on the other side of him. He said the woman identified as Roberts reached across him and knifed him in the chest with a six-inch blade. He told police that the woman’s name was Val.
The victim said she then took his wallet that contained $650 in cash and his bank card, and left.
Roberts was arraigned yesterday by District Judge Melissa A. Amodie, who set her jail bond at $7,500.
