School bus, car collide on Wilmington Road

NEW CASTLE — One child was reported injured in an accident Wednesday morning involving a Neshannock school bus and a car.

Neshannock Township police said a Neshannock school bus and a Buick sedan collided at the intersection of Wilmington Road and Maitland Lane around 8:30 a.m.

Police said 17 children were on the bus and one of them complained of neck pain. There were no other injuries.

Both vehicles appeared to have minor damage, but the car had to be towed from the scene, police said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

A letter writer to The News has suggested there’s plenty to be negative about when it comes to the city of New Castle. In general, are you negative or hopeful about our city?

I’m negative. Nepotism, corruption, and incompetence have ruled for years. Nothing has changed.
I’m hopeful. I view the county as a whole, so there’s a lot to be positive about.
Mixed. I think we’re like any other area. You have to take the bad with the good.
