Edinburg man charged in gun incident

NEW CASTLE — An Edinburg man faces assault and other charges after he allegedly pointed a gun at two people.

State police were called to the home of James Beckinger, 19, of 6726 N. Edinburg Road at 11:30 p.m. Sunday. Officers said Beckinger was engaged in an argument with another man when he pointed a gun at the man and a woman who was there.

He is charged with two counts each of simple assault, reckless endangering and harassment.

Police indicated additional charges may be filed.
