Woman charged in school incident

NEW CASTLE — A New Castle woman faces trespassing and other charges after she allegedly caused a disturbance in a local school.

State police reported Monday that Amy Kathleen Shannon, 44, of Bristol Lane was charged after an incident Oct. 9 at Pulaski Elementary School.

Police said Shannon had gone to the school that morning and caused a disturbance by yelling and cursing at a teacher in the school’s lobby.

School officials told police Shannon had been asked to step into a private office, but she refused.

Police also allege Shannon went into restricted areas of the school, including a classroom, continuing to yell at the teacher. They said she had been told several times to leave the building but refused to do so.

When state police arrived, told Shannon to leave. Initially, they said, she refused, but later complied.

Shannon has been charged with criminal trespass, disorderly conduct and harassment, as well as driving an unregistered vehicle and driving a vehicle without a valid inspection.

Milwaukee catcher Martin Maldonado has been suspended five games for sucker punching Pittsburgh’s Travis Snider during a bench clearing brawl on Sunday. You OK with that suspension?

Yes. Seems fair.
No. Baseball NEVER gets it right in these situations. Should have been at least 20 games for his sucker punch into a pile of players.
Not sure, but I’d love to see baseball be like hockey and allow two guys to fight for a while before breaking it up. Let’s see how tough Maldonado is then.
