Police seek person who hanged, burned cat

NEW CASTLE — Union Township police are seeking the person responsible for hanging and burning a cat Sunday night.

Police said someone “strung up a white and gray cat from a tree then burned it.”

The incident occurred in the High Street area.

“A neighbor took the cat to a vet. We don’t know if it will make it,” the officer said. The animal’s most severe wounds, he said, are to its neck and back.

Police are asking community assistance to find whoever is responsible.

“We believe someone in the High Street area knows something about this,” the officer said. “We encourage anyone who knows anything about this to call us.”

Union Township police can be reached at (724) 652-5203.

Are you concerned enough about the Heartbleed bug on the Internet to change all of your social media and website passwords?

Yes. It’s always a good idea to change passwords regularly anyway. I just have so many, I’m not sure where to start.
No. From what I’ve read, companies are still trying to figure out how to fix the flaw. The bad guys will just have access to my NEW passwords, too.
Not sure, but I blame Al Gore. He invented the Internet, right? How’s he going to get us out of this mess?
