‘Person of interest’ interviewed in fatality

NEW CASTLE — Police have a lead in a deadly hit-and-run accident last week.

According to Shenango Township police, officers have interviewed someone they described as a “person of interest.” The name of that person was not released.

Charles Walter Bobro, 55, of New Castle was found dead on Route 422 in Shenango Township Friday night. Apparently he had been walking along the road when he was struck by a vehicle, which then left the scene.

Police said a vehicle has been impounded in the case and is to be tested for evidence that may connect it to the hit-and-run.

Investigators also are awaiting information from the Lawrence County Coroner’s Office, Pennsylvania State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit and Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Unit.

Shenango police said once all the information is gathered, it will be presented to the Lawrence County District Attorney’s Office to determine whether to press charges.

Yes, but I’m basically just thinking out loud.
No, that would be weird.
I don’t know. Next time I’m alone, I’ll ask.
