Manager named for Austintown track, casino

NEW CASTLE — Penn National Gaming has named the general manager for Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course in Austintown.

Michael Galle, 43, who served as assistant general manager of Hollywood Casino Toledo, will run the Austintown facility, scheduled to open late in 2014.

Galle’s appointment, effective in January, is subject to customary regulatory approvals. He will report directly to John Finamore, Penn National Gaming’s senior vice president of regional operations.

His responsibilities will include the start-up, opening and management of the planned $136 million facility. He also will oversee employee recruitment and training.

Penn National’s Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is under construction at Austintown’s Centre Pointe Business Park, west of Youngstown off Route 46, just south of Interstate 80.

It will feature a video lottery terminal facility with approximately 1,000 terminals, a one-mile thoroughbred racetrack, more than 1,000 enclosed seats with racetrack views, a year-round simulcast wagering facility and food and beverage options.

Galle is a 21-year veteran of the gaming industry and has been with Penn National Gaming since February 1995.

Penn National Gaming owns, operates or has ownership interests in 28 gaming and racing facilities in 17 states and Canada.

On Wednesday, the House of Representatives voted to authorize Speaker John Boehner to sue President Obama for allegedly overstepping his legal authority with the way he's handled Obamacare. Good call?

Yes. Obama's been overstepping his authority since day one in office. It's time he pay the piper.
No. The allegations are ridiculous and the law suit is a waste of time and tax payer money.
I don't know. I'm not a huge fan of Obama, but the suit seems a little extreme.
