NEW CASTLE — Authorities conducted a drug raid Tuesday morning on an apartment in the Halco Drive public housing project.
Two people, a man and a woman, were taken into custody. They were to be arraigned Tuesday afternoon.
The Lawrence County District Attorney's Drug Task Force and New Castle police cooperated on the raid.

At least seven people were injured in a three-car accident in Neshannock Township. Neshannock police said Paola Giordano, 33, of 13 Forbes Terrace, Pittsburgh, was southbound on Mitchell Road around 10:10 a.m. Wednesday and failed to stop at a red light at the intersection of Route 18.

A 6-year-old playing in his yard Saturday night said a man tried to abduct him. Pennsylvania State Police said the child, playing on his swing set on Line Street, Perry Township, about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, was approached by a blond, bearded, tattooed man who tried to talk to him.
