State websites restored to service after unexplained outage

NEW CASTLE — HARRISBURG (AP) — Pennsylvania’s state government websites are back online after being dark for nearly three hours, but there’s no word on the cause.

The Monday afternoon outage affected many of the departments under the governor’s jurisdiction, including the Revenue Department on the last day to file taxes.

Office of Administration spokesman Dan Egan says it’s possible there may be lingering issues, but most elements appear to be functioning properly.

The outage began around 1:30 p.m. and was resolved at about 4 p.m. Officials say the problem wasn’t triggered by a cyber-attack.

Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal signed “unprecedented” legislation yesterday to expand gun rights in his state. Good idea?

Yes. Expanding the scope of where people can carry guns can help halt violent crimes and make those places safer.
No. Carrying guns into bars and schools is NEVER a good idea. I think it will lead to more violence.
Not sure, but I don’t plan to visit Georgia any time soon.
