Blaze damages North Hill home

NEW CASTLE —

Damage is estimated at $5,000 to a house that caught fire Saturday afternoon.
FIrefighters were called to 720 Blaine Street at 12:42 p.m. and were at the scene about 25 minutes. A fire department spokesman said the fire started in a garbage can and extended to the wood siding under the aluminum siding.
The interior of the two-story home was not affected, according to reports.
The spokesman said the owners’ name was not available.
