NEW CASTLE —
A 24-year-old Lawrence County man is facing charges of drug possession and terroristic threats.
Union Township police said Leslie Ransom Jr. of 1105 Miller Road is expected to be charged regarding an incident in which he allegedly threatened a woman outside a supermarket.
According to police, a woman said that on May 16, she was sitting outside the store when a man asked her if she wanted to buy drugs. She looked inside a brown paper bag and saw that it contained drugs and told him she wasn’t interested, police said.
When the woman started to enter the store, police reported, the man said if she told anyone about the drugs he was going to have her shot.
Upon investigation, police found Ransom in possession of a bag of marijuana, $101 and an access card belonging to someone else. Police also found four bags of suspected marijuana, five bags containing a white powder, a CD case with a digital scale inside, one insulin needle, a suspected crack pipe, a suspected marijuana pipe and several miscellaneous items.
Officers said the only drug that tested positive was the marijuana.
Police expect to charge Ransom with possession with intent to manufacture or deliver, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, terroristic threats and access device fraud.
