NEW CASTLE —
An Oil City man is in jail, accused of robbing Edward’s Restaurant with a plastic BB gun last night.
The hold-up occurred around 11:40 p.m., just before closing time, according to New Castle police chief Bobby Salem.
New Castle officers, with the help of Neshannock Township police, a short time later arrested 22-year-old Ward W. Wise in connection with the alleged heist. Wise is a former employee of the establishment.
He allegedly made off with about $2,000 in cash, which was later recovered.
Police also arrested the driver of the getaway car.
Reporter Debbie Wachter is working on this developing story and will have complete details on Friday.
