Woman facing drug charges released

NEW CASTLE — A woman arrested following a raid by New Castle police and the Lawrence County Drug Task Force has been released.

Michelle Lee Cox, 27, of 313 Halco Drive, was charged with endangering the welfare of children and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was arraigned before District Judge David Rishel and jailed on a $5,000 bond. She posted bond and was released Saturday.

Officers, who had obtained a sealed search warrant, raided a house at 313 Halco Drive about 6:20 a.m. Friday.

Police found three adults, including Cox.

Officers said they also found three children in an upstairs bedroom. They said the door knob outside the kids’ room was tied to the door knob of a hallway closet, thereby locking the children inside the bedroom with no chance of them getting out of the room under any circumstance.

Police added the interior of the residence was in deplorable condition.

Sarah Palin is calling for the impeachment of President Obama for his handling of the border crisis, comparing America to a “battered wife.” Do you agree?

Yes. It seems Obama is intentionally allowing illegal immigrants to enter our country, which hampers job opportunities for U.S. citizens. Our new slogan should be, ’Bye, American!
No. Sarah Palin? Really? C’mon! The president is doing the best he can with a difficult situation. Let him finish out his term.
Not sure. I’m not a big fan of the president, but I don’t think Palin’s “battered wife” comment was appropriate.
