NEW CASTLE — Work to conduct geotechnical research for future improvements on Wilmington Road will take place Monday and Tuesday, weather permitting.

According to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation, crews will be drilling cores needed to research pavement history for possible improvements on Route 18 from Mitchell Road to Mercer County.

Short-term, intermittent single-lane closures will occur as needed from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days in various locations.

Motorists are advised to use caution and expect possible delays.
