Two face drug charges in Shenango raid

NEW CASTLE — Two Shenango Township residents have been arrested after a police search of their home yielded marijuana and cash.

Police arrested James Robert Trott, 25, and Delaney K. Lizanich, 23, both of 1223 Savannah Road.

Trott is being held on a total of $200,000 bond for two drug-related offenses filed against him. Lizanich is in the Lawrence County jail on $25,000 bond.

According to court records, members of the Lawrence County Drug Task Force had conducted a drug transaction Nov. 29 using a confidential informant who purchased a half-ounce of marijuana from Trott at his home.

On Jan. 29, the task force obtained a sealed search warrant for Trott’s home and served it around 9:30 a.m. the next day. In addition to Trott and Lizanich, another woman and a toddler were in the house, officials said.

Police seized a plastic bag containing 4.4 grams of suspected marijuana, another bag of marijuana containing 19.7 grams, a box containing 19 bags of suspected marijuana that totaled 538 grams, an all-terrain vehicle, a bag with multiple shotgun shells, a 60-inch television, two pipes and $943.

Trott is charged two counts each of possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia and one count each of conspiracy of possession with intent to deliver and possession of a controlled substance in connection with the home search.

He also is charged with one count of each of those charges in connection with the controlled buy.
